Gala for Limon Dance Dec 3
From Gordon Pennington, on behalf of Limon Dance:
You're invited to join us -- for one of the most artistically inspiring events of the year -- in New York City on Wednesday evening December 3rd, 2008!!
We'll be celebrating the Limon Dance Company Gala in New York City, in celebration of 100th anniversary of Jose Limon's birth! There will be a gala performance at the Joyce Theatre in the West Village followed by a specially designed food & wine reception at the Metropolitan Pavilion.
Limon is the oldest contemporary dance company in the world today -- at the height of their artistic and critical powers. On Monday, the Limon Company was awarded the National Medal of Art in memory of Jose Limon, the greatest Mexican-American choreographer in history. They have just performed to sold-out audiences in Mexico City and Guadalajara, Italy and Germany and will be performing at the Kennedy Center in Washington, DC on January 16/17th, 2009 as well.
